The Teacher Academy

Formerly known as the Beginning Teacher Academy, the Teacher Academy is a restructured professional development opportunity for educators along the spectrum of experience. With the implementation of the revised West Virginia Educator Evaluation System, the Teacher Academy is designed to support veteran and beginning teachers using research-based materials and instructional strategies. With a focus on classroom management, professional practice and student engagement, the Teacher Academy allows teachers to build upon a foundation of proven practices.

WVU Helpful Hints for Teachers

**Update**
New Payment Procedure for 2016 - 2017

Payments will now be made online, please do not submit payment with your form.
 
Graduate Applications will be submitted to the WVU Online and Extended Campus office (address is at the bottom of the application) by April 1, 2017.  Upon receipt of the application, WVU will process the admission and register students. WVU will then email directions for accessing the online account and making payment online.

 

 The Process

1. Choose one session from each menu column to create your customized Teacher Academy professional development plan.

2. Once you have selected your sessions, review the calendar to choose dates and locations.

3. Register at www.wvcpd.org in March.

4. If needed, contact Carla Warren, program director, at Carla.Y.Warren@wv.gov or 304-558-0539 with questions.

1. Create an account at www.wvcpd.org.

2. Register online as session schedules become available. An annual $125 registration fee covers materials, single lodging and some meals for all Teacher Academy sessions attended within the same school year.
