AP STEM Mentor Program

The WV Center for Professional Development is partnering with the College Board, the Governor’s STEM Initiative, and the Office of Education and the Arts to provide a grant program that supports Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science Principles teachers. The grant allows ten West Virginia AP teachers to complete the AP Summer Institute Computer Science Principles session and receive mentoring for the 2017-2018 academic year.

AP Mentoring

AP Mentoring is an online teacher-to-teacher support program.  This program is not only for new teachers; it is for teachers of all experience levels. The program connects teachers looking to develop their practice with expert teachers who get great results in the classroom.

Through AP Mentoring, teachers can:

  • Access face-to-face, personalized feedback that they can apply in the classroom right away.
  • Improve student performance in class and on AP exams.
  • Be active participants in their own development by working with a mentor to analyze and modify their teaching practice.
  • Earn 2.2 CEUs.

For more details about the AP Mentoring program through College Board, please visit www.collegeboard.org/apmentoring.
