Professional Development Schools Conference

   The Professional Development Schools Conference is set for March 24 - 25, 2010 at the Days Hotel and Conference Center in Flatwoods, WV. The goal of the event is to develop partnership skills for new professional development schools as well as to develop a vision for the next generation of these schools. The event will also feature a Pre-Conference Showcase on March 23, 2010 at the same location, highlighting Inquiry-Based practices in the schools. For more information, please click here.


West Virginia Center for Professional Development Partners with World Wide Workshop to Help Educators and Students Gain 21st Century Learning, Life and Technology Skills

   Teachers from several schools in the state are participating in Globaloria professional development this summer. The program, created by World Wide Workshop, brings together partners such as the Governor’s Office, WVCPD, Verizon and the Claude Benedum Foundation to support this unique learning experience for students. Heading into its second year, Globaloria is a social networking program in which students create computer games that target issues in their local, state or global communities.

WVCPD Accepting Infusing Technology Applications

   WVCPD is currently accepting applications for the 2011 -  2013 Infusing Technology program. This two-year, school-based program provides participants with resources and expert mentoring to engage in best-practice techniques for transformational uses of technology in the school and classroom. Infusing Technology is a part of the Center's Governor's Academy for Teaching Excellence. Applications are due by April 15, 2011. For details, click here.

PDS 2013 Save the Date

    Save the Date for the 2013 Professional Development Schools Conference

The upcoming West Virginia PDS Conference promises to be an opportunity to expand collaboration, idea sharing and information about best practices among professional development schools in the state. The conference is February 27 - 28, 2013, at the Days Hotel and Conference Center, Flatwoods, WV. To learn more, click here.


2014 PDS Conference Registration

   

Registration for the 2014 West Virginia Professional Development Schools Conference, February 26 -27, 2014, is now open. The annual conference promotes collaboration among professional development schools in the state. Each Higher Education Partnership Institution is invited to send 20 members of its leadership team. 2015 PDS Conference Registration Open

   

The 2015 Professional Development Schools Conference registration is now open. The event is scheduled for February 25 - 26, 2015, at the Days Hotel in Flatwoods, WV. It provides a platform for PDS partners to collaborate on research, resources and success stories in order to support teacher preparedness and student learning. For details, click here.

Stars in Education Reception

   

WVCPD Hosts Stars in Education Reception

The Center will host a Stars in Education Reception to honor two groups of educators - the most recent recipients of the WVCPD Principals' Leadership Academy Distinguished Scholar Award, and the most recent class of West Virginia's National Board Certified Teachers. The reception is scheduled for 6:30 PM, at the Charleston Marriott Hotel Ballrooms. Click here for a list of honorees.
