This book includes tools and procedures for teaching and learning. It is based on the construct that the best management program is a good instructional program. A CD-Rom of templates is included.
It features:
*Guidelines for planning lessons and units in a standards-based environment
*K-12 practitioner examples of research-based practices
*Procedures and routines for organizing the classroom for learning
*Strategies for actively engaging students, gathering pre-assessment data, integrating literacy across the curriculum, developing curriculum, vocabulary and more
*Helping students become more responsible for their own learning
Each online book study will be facilitated by an outstanding WV educator. You will be expected to post responses weekly based on assigned readings in the book. You will be asked to apply strategies from the book in your classroom and report back to the forum for discussion and reflection. Your facilitator will guide and support you through this process if you have never participated in an online book study before.
The book study is three months in duration.
Upon registering, teachers will receive information via email about how to participate in the online book study.
