Session: Classroom Management- Part Two-Beginning Teacher Academy-Charleston Session
Description: This session is a requirement for both tracks of the Beginning Teacher Academy. This session is designed for teachers who are in their first, second or third year of teaching and who attended the Beginning Teacher Academy during the 2009-2010 school year. This session will present new materials and instruction. This session will continue building ways to use classroom management to increase student achievement. Topics will include working with and understanding difficult students, developing techniques for getting and keeping your students' attention, cooperative discipline, mutual respect and effective communication.
Cost: The registration fee of $20 provides you with breakfast and lunch Tuesday and Wednesday, materials, instructors, and lodging (if needed). Please pay the $20 registration fee online or mail to: WVCPD: 208 Hale Street, Charleston, WV 25301.

Location/Lodging WVCPD Annex 209 Hale Street Charleston, WV 25301 304-558-0539 A confirmation email will be sent to you approximately one week prior to the session containing lodging details. You are eligible to request lodging if you live more than one hour or 60 miles from the session location. Please note: You must cancel 48 hours prior to the session to avoid being charged for your room.
Requirements:
Audience: This session is designed to accommodate the growing needs of new teachers. It is specifically for teachers who are in their first, second or third year of teaching and who attended the Beginning Teacher Academy in the 2009-2010 school year.The session will equip new educators with skills and practices to create effective well-managed classrooms.
